Windows and iOS are not included in these installation instructions.

macOS

  1. Open the supplied .dmg and drag Mihonator into Applications.
  2. Open the application. A test build may require an explicit approval in macOS before it can run.
  3. Add your subscription.
  4. On Connect, approve the Touch ID or password prompt. The tunnel helper requests permission for each new connection.

Launch the app as your regular user. The helper handles the privileged tunnel work.

Linux

Use the DEB package on a Debian-based distribution or the RPM package on an RPM-based distribution. Install it with your package manager so the packaged permissions and desktop entry are applied.

Debian / Ubuntu example
sudo apt install ./mihonator_VERSION_amd64.deb
Fedora example
sudo dnf install ./mihonator_VERSION_amd64.rpm

Replace the example filename with the package you received. Start Mihonator from your application launcher after installation.

The tunnel needs network administration permissions. If a loose binary cannot start TUN, use the packaged build. Clipboard support in the current Linux client requires X11 or XWayland.

Android

  1. Open the supplied ARM64 .apk on an Android 7.0 or later device.
  2. Allow installation from the app you used to open that package when Android asks.
  3. Open Mihonator and add your subscription.
  4. Start the connection and accept Android’s VPN permission prompt.

The VPN service keeps a foreground notification while running. A key or VPN icon indicates that Android has granted the tunnel; check browsing as well to verify the connection.
